February Spellwork: Fire Ceremony
We call in the wisdom & teachings of FIRE.
Registration CLOSES Monday, February 14 at 8pm PT
Our intention is to burn the story that no longer serves so a new nourishing story can rise from the ashes.
When we complete the symbolic act of burning a story that no longer serves us, we create an embodied memory.
We remember the sound of the spark, the brightness of the flame, the smell of the smoke, & the temperature of the fire.
So when the story reappears in our day-to-day life, we have a magickal embodied memory to support our change.
“Oh, wait!” We might say when the story pops into our mind, “I burnt the story that my body is not beautiful, powerful, & worthy of desire!”
We have created an intentional pause – a magickal moment of disruption – so we can ask ourSelf: “What is my choice, now?”
Tools You’ll Need
pencil
small piece of burnable paper
fire starter (matches, lighter, etc)
burnable vessel large enough for paper
water for emergency extinguishing of flame
Which sliding scale tier do I choose?
When deciding which tier of the sliding scale to place yourself, consider whether enrolling will be a sacrifice or a hardship:
If paying for a class, product, or service would be difficult, but not detrimental, it qualifies as a sacrifice. You might have to cut back on other spending in your life (such as going out to dinner, buying coffee, or a new outfit), but this will not have a long term harmful impact on your life. It is a sacred sacrifice in order to pursue something you are called to do.
If, however, paying for a class, product, or service would lead to a harmful impact on your life, such as not being able to put food on the table, pay rent, or pay for your transportation to get to work, then you are dealing with hardship. Folks coming from a space of hardship typically qualify for the lower end of the sliding scale. (excerpt from wortsandcunning.com)
If it’s a sacrifice, pay higher on the scale; if it’s a hardship, pay lower.
Reflect upon the resources you have access to, whether that is savings, retirement accounts, or support from family (blood or chosen family).
Consider your unearned privileges/proximity to power & how those impact your access to resources.
Do you own a home? Have a college education? Do you travel for pleasure?
What amount on the sliding scale will inspire to you show up & commit to your personal experience?
Sliding scale requires deep self-reflection, which can sometimes be uncomfortable. Check in with your breath. What is your body telling you right now?
Whichever tier you choose on the scale, please know: You are welcome & it’s my honor to co-create with you.
11% of your investment is redistributed equally between Indigenous Environmental Network & McKenzie River Trust.
Sliding scale registration & wealth redistribution is anti-capitalism in practice.
