Healing with our ancestors

It is widely believed that during this time of year the veil between the worlds is exceptionally thin.

This allows for greater connection to those who have departed from this physical plane of existence (as we know it).

How do YOU want to engage (or not engage) with this belief?

At the 2020 Modern Witches Confluence I attended a workshop w/ Camille Langston called Honoring Your Ancestors.

I really appreciated Camille discussing the hesitation many people experience – especially white-bodied people – on connecting to their lineage because, well, because of the likelihood their ancestors sucked (my words, def not Camille's).

After acknowledging this tension, Camille then transformed the idea into possibility:

What if connecting with our ancestors & accepting the truth of our family & heritage can bring forth healing?

What if our work in the here–&–now can transform our ancestors from outliers into healed helpers & guides?

These questions still feel profound.

As Camille shared in the workshop, ancestor “work” requires honesty & courage.

We don’t get to choose our ancestors.

We DO get to choose how we respond to our ancestral lineage.

How do you want to respond?
